Grand Canyon Mini-Swap Meet

The Grand Canyon Model Railroaders are hosting a Mini-Swap meet. Just two hours of trading. The first one in October 2014 was pretty good. The future meets should be even better as the word spreads.

Free Admission and free parking.

The club holds these shows twice a year in the spring and fall.

When: Saturday, September 23rd 2017 at 9:00AM
Where: Our Saviour's Lutheran Church
1212 E Glendale Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85020

There should be one of these shows again in April 2018.

Additional Information

This club used to hold monthly swap meets in Sunnyslope, and they are trying to do something similar. The format is simple: seller set up between 8 and 9AM, then sales from 9 to 11AM. They are planning on doing these mini-swaps twice a year.

The Grand Canyon Model Railroaders also hold the annual Armory Meet in February. The Armory meet is one of the best Arizona train shows. That means this club knows how to put on a train show.

The flyer is unclear about this. . . Sales tables are free, but only club members can sell. However, you can join the club for $35 dues. If you're a past member, you can renew your membership for only $20.

The Sunnyslope shows used to be 20-40 tables of trains for sale. They were great little train shows for two reasons - they didn't take up the whole day, and some really neat trains showed up for sale. We expect this show will be about the same.

One of the reasons the club is starting these simple shows again is to attract new members. This club is very active in the community and runs toy trains around the city frequently. The members that we know are friendly knowledgable people. If you want to learn more about toy trains, or spend some time running trains on the club's portable layouts talk to one of the members when you're at the swap meet.
